Dear EPS family:

We are fortunate to live in and serve a community that believes in the power of public education. Our friends, neighbors and fellow residents sincerely want every student in our district to experience academic and personal success.

The school board recently embarked on a major initiative to develop a five-year strategic plan for the school district's future. This is an opportunity for us to discuss what we want our schools and education to look like and what we want to accomplish for our students. As a parent of an Enid Public Schools’ student, a staff member, or a community member your involvement is critical to this effort.

Our district is partnering with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) and the K20 Center at the University of Oklahoma to develop a five-year strategic plan.

Below is our upcoming timeline:

On Sept. 17, 2024, we are launching a survey to gather feedback from staff members, students and parents about their school experience. It will also help us identify the strengths of the district, as well as opportunities for improvement. You can complete the survey by visiting our website at www.enidpublicschools.org/strategicplan. The links to the survey (in English or Spanish) are on the left side of the page. It will close Oct. 17, 2024, and all responses will be sent directly to OSSBA staff.

On September 23, 2024, at 6:30 pm we will host community forums and a community-wide survey, as well as take a deep dive into student achievement data to help inform our decisions for the future. The meeting will be held in the board room of the Administration Services Center, 500 S. Independence.

In the spring of 2025, we will develop the district’s long-term plan using the valuable information garnered through research and stakeholder input. It will include bold and meaningful goals for the future, along with action plans we can use to work together and attain them.

This is an exciting, intensive process that many other school districts throughout Oklahoma have successfully adopted and implemented to ensure their districts have clear, student-centered goals that lead to continual improvement.

Thank you for your dedication to our students and for being involved in this important process. I can't wait to work together to take our district – and our services for students – to the next level.

Sincerely,

Dr. Dudley Darrow
