EPS Curriculum Department

The Enid Public Schools Curriculum Department includes all work related to curriculum, instruction, and assessments. Our team is dedicated to supporting staff members at all of our campuses to ensure they have the information and resources to provide high levels of instruction for all EPS students. Our mission is to build and maintain relationships that maximize the strengths, resources, and talents of our diverse community to provide an environment where learners will become responsible, well rounded, global citizens. In collaboration with parents, staff, and students, we strive to maintain engaging learning environments that utilize a blended learning framework to promote rigor and set high expectations. Our curriculum, instruction, and assessments are all aimed at supporting our students as they become college and career ready.

Ag at Enid High

At the start of the 2024-2025 school year, an Agricultural program was added to Enid High School. The program offers courses that explores various aspects of agriculture, including plant science, animal care, and agribusiness. Students in the program will engage in hands-on learning experiences, gaining practical skills and insights into potential careers in agriculture after graduation. The program also highlights the significance of agriculture in the local community and economy.

LETRS for Teachers

EPS is dedicated to providing professional development in the science of reading for all teachers. We do that through LETRS Training: Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling.

Enid Public Schools has been nationally recognized for our implementation of the science of reading. We're proud of our teachers and administrators for earning that honor!

EPS Aviation Program

Nestled in a community teeming with aviation opportunity, Enid is a prime place for a student aviation program. Established in 2021, the EPS aviation program offers courses in middle and high school that study many elements of flight. These courses are designed to help students explore potential careers in the aviation industry post-graduation.

Library Books and Classroom Texts

EPS is dedicated to using quality, engaging, and appropriate materials with our students. When it comes to the literature or texts that students have an opportunity to read, there are three ways that can look.

  1. Students have regular opportunities to self-select books from the school library.

  2. Teachers may broadly assign a type of book for students to read. For example, a teacher may assign students to research a person from history and write a biography essay, but allow students to choose any biography that fits the assignment criteria.

  3. Teachers may assign a specific text for students to read.

In any of the above situations, parents and guardians have a right to request that the teacher or library reconsider that text's availability to students. The link below is an opportunity to request that a text be reconsidered or reviewed for its role in EPS Curriculum. After completing the form, an EPS employee will be in touch with you for next steps.
